# Update the company profile

`PATCH /company-profile`

## Request

Partially update the organization's company profile. Omitted fields are left unchanged; nullable fields accept `null` to clear them.

Requires an **org-scoped** key (`gcai_...`): company context is organization-level configuration, so user-scoped keys receive 403. Creating the first company profile is done in the web UI.

  - `industry` string, nullable: Industry sector. Send null to clear.

  - `location` string, nullable: Primary office location. Send null to clear.
  - `incorporation_country` string, nullable: Country of incorporation. Send null to clear.
  - `incorporation_state` string, nullable: State/province of incorporation. Send null to clear.
  - `description` string, nullable: Short company description. Send null to clear.
  - `revenue` string, nullable: Annual revenue band. Send null to clear.
  - `legal_matters` string, nullable: Typical legal matters. Send null to clear.
  - `regulations` string, nullable: Key regulations. Send null to clear.
  - `risk_tolerance` string, nullable: Risk tolerance level. Send null to clear.
  - `additional_info` string, nullable: Free-form additional context. Send null to clear.

## Other responses

- `400`: No fields provided, or invalid request body
- `401`: Missing or malformed API key
- `403`: Key is not org-scoped, or the API key is invalid
- `404`: No company profile exists to update
- `409`: The organization has more than one company profile, so the singular `/company-profile` resource cannot disambiguate. List them via `GET /company-profiles` and address one by id.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. See [Rate Limits](https://docs.gc.ai/api-reference/concepts/rate-limits) for the tiers, limits, and how to back off.
- `500`: Internal server error
- `503`: Service temporarily unavailable
