# Get user role for a token

`GET /v1/tokens/{tokenName}/role`

Get user role for a token

## Path parameters

- `tokenName` string, required

## Response `200`

Effective user role and access source for the token.

- object
  - `error` false, required: Successful response marker.
  - `message` string, required: Response message.
  - `status` number, required: HTTP status code.
  - `data` UserRoleResponse, required
    - `inviteScope` 'TOKEN' | 'ALL_OWNER_TOKENS', nullable: For moderator access: the scope of the invite (TOKEN or ALL_OWNER_TOKENS)
    - `isOwner` boolean, required: Whether the user is the token owner
    - `role` 'OWNER' | 'MANAGER' | 'TECHNICAL_PRODUCER' | 'MODERATOR' | 'null', nullable: User's effective role for this token's stream
    - `source` 'OWNER' | 'MODERATOR' | 'null', nullable: Source of access: OWNER (token creator), MODERATOR (claimed invite), or null (no access)

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid JWT token
- `404`: Token not found
- `default`: Shared error envelope for token role failures.
