# Get user permissions for a token

`GET /v1/permissions`

Returns the effective permissions for the authenticated user on a specific token. User address is inferred from the JWT token.

## Query parameters

- `tokenName` string, required

## Response `200`

User permissions retrieved successfully

- UserPermissionsResponse
  - `isOverseer` boolean, required: Whether the user has a platform-wide overseer role
  - `isOwner` boolean, required: Whether the user is the token owner (owners have all permissions)
  - `matchedPreset` 'MODERATOR' | 'TECHNICAL_PRODUCER' | 'MANAGER', nullable: If permissions match a role preset exactly, the preset name
  - `permissions` string[], required: Array of permission strings the user has for this token
  - `source` 'owner' | 'moderator_invite' | 'api_key' | 'overseer', nullable, required: Source of the permissions (how access was granted)

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or invalid tokenName parameter
- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid JWT token
- `404`: Token not found
- `default`: Shared error envelope returned by the application exception filter.
