# Sync application message template

`PUT /channels/{channel_id}/application_message_templates`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api2.frontapp.com`
- URL: `https://api2.frontapp.com/channels/{channel_id}/application_message_templates`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Import an application message template from an external service (such as WhatsApp or Facebook). The message template becomes available for use by the channel specified if configured as described in [this topic](https://dev.frontapp.com/update/docs/application-channel-message-templates).

## Path parameters

- `channel_id` string, required

## Request body

- ApplicationMessageTemplate
  - `name` string, required: Name of the message template.
  - `blurb` string, required: A limited preview of the message template content.
  - `is_disabled` boolean, required: Whether the message template is enabled for use in the external service.
  - `status_name` string, required: Either "PENDING", "APPROVED", or "REJECTED". This value helps admins understand why a template may be enabled or disabled in the external service.
  - `variable_mappings` object[], required: List of variable mappings
    - `uid` string, required: Value of the variable
    - `name` string, required: Name of the variable
    - `type` string, required: Type of the variable
  - `template_preview` string, required: Preview of the template
  - `external_id` string, required

## Response `200`

An application message template

- ApplicationMessageTemplateResponse: Response for an application message template.
  - `template_id` number: ID of the application message template

## Other responses

- `400`: Channel is not an application channel or does not support application message templates.
