# Create a split

`POST /beta/dataset/{dataset_id}/split`

Create a new split in the dataset.

## Path parameters

- `dataset_id` string, required: ID of the dataset.

## Query parameters

- `name` string, required

## Headers

- `X-Friendli-Team` string, nullable: ID of team to run requests as (optional parameter).

## Response `200`

OK

- SplitInfo: Split info.
  - `id` string, required: ID of the split.
  - `name` string, required: Name of the split.
  - `createdAt` integer, required: Unix timestamp (in seconds) of when the split was created.
  - `updatedAt` integer, required: Unix timestamp (in seconds) of when the split was last modified.

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
