# Add manual quote

`POST /v2.0/shipments/truckload/{shipmentId}/quote`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.freightview.dev`
- URL: `https://api.freightview.dev/v2.0/shipments/truckload/{shipmentId}/quote`
- Auth: OAuth 2 (client credentials, token URL `/v2.0/auth/token`)

This endpoint can be used to add a quote to a truckload shipment.

If the value provided for <code>carrierEmail</code> does not match any carrier email address associated with the Freightview account, and no <code>autoCreateCarrierName</code> value is provided with which to create a new carrier in Freightview for the carrier email address, an <code>HTTP 404 Not Found</code> error will be returned.

## Path parameters

- `shipmentId` string, required

## Request body

- ExternalAddQuoteReqDTO
  - `quoteNum` string: The quote number specified by the carrier providing the quote.
  - `amount` number, required: The total amount of this quote.
  - `currency` 'usd', required: The currency of the quote amount.
  - `carrierEmail` string, email, required: The carrier email address to which the quoted should be associated.
  - `autoCreateCarrierName` string: If a carrier is not found for the carrier email provided, create a new carrier with the provided name.

## Response `201`

Created

- ExternalAddQuoteResDTO
  - `quoteId` string: The unique identifier for the quote in Freightview.

- `402`: Payment Required
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found

- `500`: Internal Server Error
