# Diagnose redirect chains and loops

`GET /cms/redirects/chains`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1/cms/redirects/chains`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-KEY`

Inspect a site's redirects for multi-hop chains (a redirect that points at another redirect) and loops, so they can be flattened before they cost crawl budget.

## Query parameters

- `site_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Chain and loop findings

- object
  - `data` object
    - `issues` object[]
      - `from_path` string: The path that begins the chain or loop.
      - `kind` 'chain' | 'loop'
      - `path` string[]: The ordered hops from from_path onward.
      - `final_target` string, nullable: The resolved destination for a chain; null for a loop.
  - `request_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation failed
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limited, or the org's monthly brief limit blocked minting the refreshed brief (only the FIRST supersession of a brief is billing-exempt; repeats meter normally)
