# Create a topic cluster

`POST /clusters`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1/clusters`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-KEY`

Create a topic cluster. Omit `site_id` for an org-wide cluster, or pass a site your organization owns to scope it. A `site_id` the org does not own returns 404.

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: Required. Cluster name.
  - `description` string: Optional summary of the cluster's topic.
  - `color` string: Optional display color.
  - `seed_keywords` string[]: Optional seed keywords for the cluster.
  - `site_id` string, uuid: Optional. Scope the cluster to a site the org owns; omit for an org-wide cluster.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation failed
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limited, or the org's monthly brief limit blocked minting the refreshed brief (only the FIRST supersession of a brief is billing-exempt; repeats meter normally)
