# Elect a cluster's pillar content

`POST /clusters/{id}/pillar`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1/clusters/{id}/pillar`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-KEY`

Promote a content row to be the cluster's pillar. The content must already be a member of the cluster (`not_a_member` otherwise) and must be an article, not a brief (`brief_not_allowed`). Electing a new pillar displaces the previous one, returned as `displaced_content_id`.

## Request body

  - `content_id` string, uuid, required: Required. The cluster member to elect as pillar.

## Response `200`

    - `cluster_id` string, uuid
    - `pillar_content_id` string, uuid
    - `pillar_title` string, nullable
    - `displaced_content_id` string, uuid, nullable: The content that was pillar before this call, or null if there was none.
  - `request_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: The content is not a cluster member (not_a_member) or is a brief (brief_not_allowed)
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limited, or the org's monthly brief limit blocked minting the refreshed brief (only the FIRST supersession of a brief is billing-exempt; repeats meter normally)
