# Assign content or a brief to a cluster

`POST /clusters/{id}/assign`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://next.frase.io/api/v1/clusters/{id}/assign`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-KEY`

Assign one or more content rows and/or briefs to a cluster. At least one of `content_id` or `brief_id` is required.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- object
  - `content_id` string, uuid: Content to assign. At least one of content_id or brief_id is required.
  - `brief_id` string, uuid: Brief to assign. At least one of content_id or brief_id is required.

## Response `200`

Items assigned to the cluster

    - `cluster_id` string, uuid
    - `assigned` object[]
      - `type` 'content' | 'brief'
      - `id` string, uuid
  - `request_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation failed
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limited, or the org's monthly brief limit blocked minting the refreshed brief (only the FIRST supersession of a brief is billing-exempt; repeats meter normally)
