# POST /v1/mailboxes/{mailboxId}/messages/{messageId}/unsubscribe

`POST /v1/mailboxes/{mailboxId}/messages/{messageId}/unsubscribe`

## Request

- The document declares no server URL.
- Auth: one of:
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `/authorize`, token URL `/oauth/token`, scopes: `email.send`)
  - HTTP bearer

Leave the list a message came from, the way the message offers (`Message.unsubscribe`). The engine acts — the reader's browser never contacts the sender.

- `mailboxId` string, required
- `messageId` string, required

## Response `202`

The request has been accepted for processing, but processing has not yet completed.

- UnsubscribeRequested: What was asked of the list (docs/design/INBOX-LATER-LIST.md §1).
  - `method` 'one-click' | 'mailto', required: `one-click`: our engine made the sender's RFC 8058 POST. `mailto`: it sent the message the list asked for.

## Other responses

- `401`: Access is unauthorized.
- `403`: Access is forbidden.
- `404`: The server cannot find the requested resource.
- `409`: The request conflicts with the current state of the server.
- `502`: Server error
- `default`: An unexpected error response.
