# Validate own-account (BYO) trading credentials

Report readiness for caller-supplied own-account credentials, never stored.

Lets the UI confirm a connected Kalshi/Polymarket account (e.g. the RSA key
parses) before placing an order. Credentials are used transiently and never
echoed back — only boolean readiness is returned.

## Request body

- TradingAccountCheckRequest: Legacy transient credential validation request. Kept for non-browser compatibility while the public product uses the secure account-connection endpoint below.
  - `venue_credentials` VenueCredentials: Credentials received only by the authenticated connection endpoint. These values are accepted once over TLS, encrypted server-side, and never returned to the browser. They are intentionally rejected on order-preview and order-submission requests so the public UI cannot fall back to a browser-held secret flow.
    - `kalshi_api_key_id` string, nullable
    - `kalshi_private_key` string, nullable: RSA private key PEM.
