# Create, rename or move a note folder

`PUT /note/folders`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.focusbear.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.focusbear.io/note/folders`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a folder when no id is given, otherwise renames it (name) or moves it (parent_id, null for the top level). Creating with a system_key the user already has returns that folder unchanged, so a folder a client makes for itself exists once however many devices ask for it.

## Request body

- UpsertNoteFolderDto
  - `id` string, uuid: The folder to rename or move. Omitted to create one.
  - `name` string: Required when creating a folder.
  - `parent_id` object, nullable: The parent folder; null moves the folder to the top level.
  - `system_key` string: A client's stable key for a folder it makes itself. Creating with a key the user already has returns that folder unchanged, so every device finds one folder. Only read when creating.
