# Update guild vanity URL

`PATCH /guilds/{guild_id}/vanity-url`

Requires manage_guild permission. Sets or removes a custom invite code.

## Path parameters

- `guild_id` union, required
  - string, snowflake
  - integer

## Request body

- GuildVanityURLUpdateRequest
  - `code` string, nullable — The new vanity URL code (2-32 characters, alphanumeric and hyphens)

## Response `200`

Success

- GuildVanityURLUpdateResponse
  - `code` string, nullable, required — The new vanity URL code, or null when the vanity URL was removed

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - The request was malformed or contained invalid data
- `401` — Unauthorized - Authentication is required or the token is invalid
- `403` — Forbidden - You do not have permission to perform this action
- `429` — Too Many Requests - You are being rate limited
- `500` — Internal Server Error - An unexpected error occurred
