# Create OAuth2 application

`POST /oauth2/applications`

Creates a new bot-backed OAuth2 application (client). Requires CAPTCHA verification. Returns client credentials including ID and secret. Application can be used for authorization flows and API access.

## Request body

- ApplicationCreateRequest
  - `name` string, required — The name of the application
  - `redirect_uris` string[], nullable — The redirect URIs for OAuth2 flows
  - `bot_public` boolean — Whether the bot can be invited by anyone
  - `bot_require_code_grant` boolean — Whether the bot requires OAuth2 code grant

  - `id` string, required — The unique identifier of the application
  - `name` string, required — The name of the application
  - `redirect_uris` string[], required — The registered redirect URIs for OAuth2
  - `bot_public` boolean, required — Whether the bot can be invited by anyone
  - `bot_require_code_grant` boolean, required — Whether the bot requires OAuth2 code grant
  - `client_secret` string — The client secret for OAuth2 authentication
  - `bot` object — The bot user associated with the application
    - `id` string, required — The unique identifier of the bot user
    - `username` string, required — The username of the bot
    - `discriminator` string, required — The discriminator of the bot
    - `avatar` string, nullable — The avatar hash of the bot
    - `banner` string, nullable — The banner hash of the bot
    - `bio` string, nullable, required — The bio or description of the bot
    - `token` string — The bot token for authentication
    - `mfa_enabled` boolean — Whether the bot has MFA enabled
    - `authenticator_types` AuthenticatorType[] — The types of authenticators enabled
    - `flags` integer, required — The bot user flags

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - The request was malformed or contained invalid data
- `401` — Unauthorized - Authentication is required or the token is invalid
- `403` — Forbidden - You do not have permission to perform this action
- `429` — Too Many Requests - You are being rate limited
- `500` — Internal Server Error - An unexpected error occurred
