# Retire a card

`POST /cards/{cardId}/retire`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://fluidrecall.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://fluidrecall.com/api/v1/cards/{cardId}/retire`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP dpop

Write. Soft-retire a card this token owns. listDue will not return it. Reveal and a new review return 404. CardSchedule and past reviews stay. A second call returns the original retiredAt and alreadyRetired true. There is no idempotency key. Another token's card is 404.

The card is retired.

  - `retiredAt` string, required: UTC ISO-8601 timestamp ending in Z
  - `alreadyRetired` boolean, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or wrong token.
- `404`: No card with that id for this token.
