# Start Assessment

`POST /assessment/start`

Create the assessment row + Redis state. Returns the FIRST item.

Both text and voice modalities use this same flow — the difference is that
voice mode also opens an /ai-voice/ws/live WebSocket later for narration.
Each item is served via this REST API; the WS only does TTS+STT.
