# Trigger signal event

`POST /signal-events/{id}`

## Path parameters

- `signalEventId` string, required

## Request body

- TriggerSignalRequest: Request that is used for triggering a signal
  - `createTestDefinition` boolean: Whether a test definition needs to be created for the signal request. Only used when triggering a signal for a definition

## Response `200`

Indicates the signal event is found and triggered.

- TriggerResultDTO
  - `instanceId` string
  - `instanceType` string

## Other responses

- `204`: Indicates the signal event was not found.
