# Delete a task

`DELETE /cmmn-runtime/tasks/{taskId}`

## Response `204`

Indicates the task was found and has been deleted. Response-body is intentionally empty.

## Other responses

- `403`: Indicates the requested task cannot be deleted because it’s part of a workflow.
- `404`: Indicates the requested task was not found.
