# Create Workflow Folder

`POST /api/v1/workflows/folders`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:3009`
- URL: `http://localhost:3009/api/v1/workflows/folders`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a folder in the API key holder's workflow list, at the top level or inside `parent_folder_id`. Folders are personal to each member. Pass the returned `folder_id` to Create Workflow or Duplicate Workflow to place a workflow in it.

## Request body

- CreateWorkflowFolderBody: Body for Create Workflow Folder. Only `name` is required.
  - `name` string, required: Folder name. Trimmed before saving and not required to be unique.
  - `parent_folder_id` unknown

## Response `201`

Default Response

  - `data` WorkflowFolder: A folder in the API key holder's workflow list.
    - `folder_id` string, required: Folder ID. Matches `folder_id` on the workflows inside it.
    - `name` string, required: Folder name.
    - `parent_folder_id` unknown, required
    - `path` string[], required: Folder names from the top-level folder down to and including this one.

## Other responses

- `400`: Empty name
- `401`: Unauthorized — missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Forbidden. `code` says which permission refused: ROLE_FORBIDDEN (your role), INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE (the API key's scopes), WORKFLOW_FORBIDDEN (no access to the workflow), KEY_WORKFLOW_FORBIDDEN (the API key's workflow restriction).
- `404`: Parent folder not found
- `429`: Too Many Requests — rate limit exceeded. Check `Retry-After` header for seconds until the limit resets.
