# Duplicate Workflow

`POST /api/v1/workflows/{workflow_id}/duplicate`

## Request

Creates a new workflow in the caller's active organization by deep-copying the source workflow's configuration, action chains, and child sheets. Data rows, run history, and sharing permissions are not copied; the new workflow starts empty and is owned by the caller. Pass `folder_id` from List Workflow Folders to place the copy in a folder; omit it or pass `null` for the top level. If the source ID is a child sheet, the copy remains attached to the same parent workflow; a non-null `folder_id` is refused there.

## Request body

- DuplicateWorkflowBody: Body for Duplicate Workflow. `name` becomes the copied workflow's name.
  - `name` string, required: Name for the copy. Trimmed before saving and not required to be unique.
  - `folder_id` unknown

## Response `201`

Default Response

  - `data` WorkflowDuplicated: Identity of the newly-created workflow copy.
    - `workflow_id` string, uuid, required: UUID of the new workflow copy.
    - `name` string, required: The copied workflow's stored name, after trimming.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid workflow ID, empty name, or a non-null `folder_id` on a sheet
- `401`: Unauthorized — missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Forbidden. `code` says which permission refused: ROLE_FORBIDDEN (your role), INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE (the API key's scopes), WORKFLOW_FORBIDDEN (no access to the workflow), KEY_WORKFLOW_FORBIDDEN (the API key's workflow restriction).
- `404`: Workflow or folder not found
- `429`: Too Many Requests — rate limit exceeded. Check `Retry-After` header for seconds until the limit resets.
