# Get a live stream URL

`GET /v1/streams/{deviceID}/liveUrl`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.flocksafety.com/api`
- URL: `https://api.flocksafety.com/api/v1/streams/{deviceID}/liveUrl`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns a signed live stream RTSPS URL for a video-capable device in the caller's organization. The URL signature is only valid for 10 seconds, just long enough to initiate the stream from an RTSP client and for the server to verify the signature and start the stream. A new URL must be requested before every live stream session.

## Path parameters

- `deviceID` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

A live stream URL was generated successfully.

  - `url` string, uri, required: Signed RTSPS URL for the requested device's live stream.

## Other responses

- `401`: The bearer token is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The caller lacks the required scope or access to the device's network.
- `404`: The device was not found.
- `422`: The deviceID is invalid or the device does not provide a live video stream.
- `429`: The caller has exceeded the API rate limit.
- `500`: The request could not be completed because of an internal error.
