# Create customer portal session

`GET /customers/portal/{external_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://us.api.flexprice.io/v1`
- URL: `https://us.api.flexprice.io/v1/customers/portal/{external_id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Use when sending a customer to their self-serve billing portal (invoices, usage, payment methods). Returns a short-lived URL and token scoped to that customer.

- `external_id` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `404`: Customer not found
- `500`: Server error
