# Auth Status

`GET /api/v1/auth/status`

## Request

Anonymous-safe session check.

Returns 200 with `{authenticated: true, user: {...}}` when a valid session
exists, or 200 with `{authenticated: false, user: null}` when it doesn't.

Unlike `/auth/me` (which 401s for anonymous visitors), this NEVER returns a
4xx status, so the browser doesn't log a "Failed to load resource: 401"
console error on every public page load. The SPA bootstrap uses this
instead of `/auth/me` (SEO Phase 3.9 — clears the `errors-in-console` audit).
