# End an equipment lifecycle

`DELETE /api/v1/vehicles/{id}/checks`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://fleetkeep.co.uk`
- URL: `https://fleetkeep.co.uk/api/v1/vehicles/{id}/checks`
- Auth: OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://fleetkeep.co.uk/auth/oauth2/authorize`, token URL `https://fleetkeep.co.uk/auth/oauth2/token`, scopes: `vehicles:write`)

Preserves the record as history; it does not hard-delete it. First call with the record ID and removal date returns a five-minute confirmation token. Retry the identical request with X-Fleetkeep-Confirmation. The token is bound to the user, bearer token, equipment version and removal date.
