# Create Vehicle Status

`POST /vehicle_statuses`

Creates a new Vehicle Status

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: The name of the Vehicle Status. Must be unique.
  - `default` boolean: Whether this should be the default Vehicle Status for new `Vehicles`.

## Response `201`

OK

- VehicleStatus: A Vehicle Status
  - `id` integer
  - `created_at` string, date-time: The date and time at which this record was created.
  - `updated_at` string, date-time: The date and time at which this record was most recently updated.
  - `account_id` integer, required
  - `name` string, required: The name of the Vehicle Status.
  - `default` boolean, required: Whether this is the default Vehicle Status for new `Vehicles`.
  - `color` string, nullable, required: The color of the Vehicle Status shown in the UI.
  - `position` integer, nullable, required: The position of this Vehicle Status in the list of Vehicle Statuses.

## Other responses

- `401`: Request could not be authenticated
- `403`: Insufficient permission to perform this operation
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity
- `500`: Something unexpected happened
