# Retrieve Custom Record

`GET /custom_object_templates/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://secure.fleetio.com/api`
- URL: `https://secure.fleetio.com/api/custom_object_templates/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization` and API key in header `Account-Token`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/fleetio/apis/fleetio-developer-api/docs/custom_object_templates/:id/get.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Returns a single Custom Record.

For `GET` requests, the `{id}` path segment accepts the custom record `key`.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

OK

- CustomObjectTemplate: A Custom Record.
  - `account_id` integer, required: The Fleetio id of the account that owns this custom record.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
  - `description` string, nullable: Optional descriptive text for the custom record.
  - `enabled` boolean, required: Indicates whether this custom record is enabled for use.
  - `icon_name` string, required: The Fleetio icon name used to represent this custom record.
  - `id` integer, required
  - `key` string, required: The parameterized key generated for this custom record.
  - `name` string, required: The singular display name of the custom record.
  - `permissions` CustomObjectTemplatePermissions, required: What the requesting user may do with the records of this Custom Record type — not with the type definition itself, which is an administrator permission and is not reported here. `update` and `destroy` describe whether the role has that ability anywhere in the type; for a specific record, use the `permissions` on the Custom Object itself, which accounts for row-level restrictions.
    - `create` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may create records of this type.
    - `update` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may edit records of this type.
    - `destroy` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may delete records of this type.
  - `plural_name` string, required: The plural display name of the custom record.
  - `type_permissions` CustomObjectTemplateTypePermissions, required: What the requesting user may do with this Custom Record type itself — adding a type, renaming one, or deleting one. This is an administrator permission, and is account-wide rather than per type: every type in the account reports the same answer. For what the user may do with the records of the type, use `permissions`.
    - `create` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may add a Custom Record type.
    - `update` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may rename or reconfigure this type.
    - `destroy` boolean, required: Indicates whether the user may delete this type.
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required
