# Release Phone Number

`DELETE /v1/agent/phone-numbers/{phone_number_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.fish.audio`
- URL: `https://api.fish.audio/v1/agent/phone-numbers/{phone_number_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Release a number back to the provider's inventory and stop its daily
billing. This is irreversible: anyone — including other platforms — can
buy the number afterwards, so callers who saved it may reach a stranger.
The number disappears from this API immediately.

## Path parameters

- `phone_number_id` string, required

## Response `204`

Request fulfilled, nothing follows

## Other responses

- `401`: No permission -- see authorization schemes
- `404`: Nothing matches the given URI
- `503`: The server cannot process the request due to a high load
