# Get the latest shares outstanding for a company

`GET /v1/company/shares-outstanding`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.fiscal.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.fiscal.ai/v1/company/shares-outstanding`
- Auth: API key in query parameter `apiKey`

Returns the total number of shares outstanding and detailed share-class breakdown as of the latest available filing for the company.

## Query parameters

- `apiKey` string: API Key (alternatively send via X-Api-Key header)
- `ticker` string: Company ticker, use with mic or alone for US tickers
- `micCode` string: Company MIC, use with ticker
- `exchange` string: Company exchange code, use with ticker
- `companyKey` string: Company key (alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange)
- `cusip` string: Requires CUSIP/ISIN license. An alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange. Company CUSIP
- `isin` string: Requires CUSIP/ISIN license. An alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange. Company ISIN
- `figi` string: FIGI (Financial Instrument Global Identifier). An alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange.
- `cik` string: Company CIK (SEC Central Index Key). An alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange.
- `fscl` string: Fiscal.ai stable company identifier (the companyFiscalIdentifier field). An alternative to ticker/micCode/exchange.

Shares outstanding

  - `totalSharesOutstanding` number, nullable, required: Total shares outstanding. Null when the split-adjusted count is corrupted (< 1 share).
  - `ordinaryTotalSharesOutstanding` number, nullable: Total shares in ordinary-share terms. Present for a company with a depositary programme when a conversion factor is known (the ADS total converted), and for a company served on the ordinary basis (equal to totalSharesOutstanding; null on a record whose served total is not known to be in ordinary shares, such as a count in depositary units that no ratio could restate or a total the serving filters replaced with a depositary-unit figure, and on a reverse-split-corrupted record); absent for a company that never had a programme.

    - `ordinaryShareConversion` object: Only present for ADR companies with a conversion factor. The main sharesOutstanding is in ADS terms; use ordinaryShareConversion.ordinarySharesOutstanding for ordinary-share figures.
      - `conversionFactor` number, required: Ratio of 1 ADS to ordinary shares (e.g., 8 means 1 ADS = 8 ordinary shares).
      - `ordinarySharesOutstanding` number, required: Share count in ordinary-share terms.
    - `sourceDocument` string, required
