# Create a Proof of Ownership PDF for an address

`POST /address_registry/proof_of_ownership_exports`

Creates a Proof of Ownership PDF for a blockchain address owned by the authenticated workspace — for example, to share with a counterparty or bank as compliance evidence. Recipients can confirm it with `POST /v1/address_registry/proof_of_ownership_exports/verify`.

Check `proofOfOwnershipAvailable` on `GET /v1/address_registry/legal_entities/{address}` first if you want to know whether create is likely to succeed.

## Request body

- AddressRegistryCreateProofOfOwnershipRequest: Request body for creating an Address Registry Proof of Ownership PDF export.
  - `address` string, required: Blockchain address to prove ownership for (must resolve to the caller's workspace). Same format expectations as the `address` path parameter on `GET /v1/address_registry/legal_entities/{address}`.

PDF export created

- AddressRegistryCreateProofOfOwnershipResponse: Address Registry Proof of Ownership PDF export, created successfully.
  - `pdf` string, byte, required: Base64-encoded Proof of Ownership PDF bytes. Fireblocks does not store the PDF: save it immediately, there is no re-download route.
  - `exportId` string, uuid, required: Stable id of the online-verifiable export record.
  - `verificationHash` string, required: Verification hash bound to the export (also printed on the PDF).
  - `expiresAt` string, required: Inclusive last UTC calendar day online verification is available (`YYYY-MM-DD`).

## Other responses

- `400`: - Missing, empty, or whitespace-only `address`. Error code 4100. - Workspace not opted in to the address registry. Error code 2140.
- `403`: This workspace is blocked from creating Proof of Ownership exports. Error code 2146.
- `404`: Address not found, not owned by this workspace, or not usable for export. Error code 2142.
- `429`: Rate limited. Error code 2145. Retry-safe after backing off.
- `500`: Internal error. No PDF is returned. Not retry-safe. Error code 2143.
- `503`: Rate-limit infrastructure temporarily unavailable. Safe to retry with backoff. Error code 2143 — same as the 500 case; use the HTTP status to tell them apart.
