# Look up legal entity by blockchain address

`GET /address_registry/legal_entities/{address}`

Returns legal entity information for the given blockchain address (LEI data availability, LEI identifier, Travel Rule providers, contact email, and related fields — see response schema). URL-encode `{address}` when required.

Legal entity found

- AddressRegistryLegalEntity: Legal entity details for a blockchain address.
  - `leiData` boolean, required: Indicates whether LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) data is available for this address from a verified public registry. A value of `false` means no LEI record was found.
  - `entityName` string, required: Legal entity display name.
  - `jurisdiction` string, required: Jurisdiction (e.g. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code).
  - `lei` string, required: Legal Entity Identifier when available. Empty when `leiData` is `false`.
  - `travelRuleProviders` AddressRegistryTravelRuleProvider[], required
  - `email` string, required: Travel Rule contact email when available.
  - `proofOfOwnershipAvailable` boolean, required: Whether the caller can currently create a Proof of Ownership PDF for this address (`POST /v1/address_registry/proof_of_ownership_exports`).

## Other responses

- `400`: - `{address}` empty or whitespace-only after trim. Error code 4100. - Workspace not opted in to the address registry. Error code 2140.
- `403`: This workspace is blocked from Address Registry public lookup. Error code 2146.
- `404`: Address not found, owner not opted in, or legal entity not usable for lookup. Error code 2142.
- `429`: Rate limited. Error code 2145. Retry-safe after backing off.
- `default`: Error Response
