# Batch Update Contact Records

`POST /api/v3/record/contact/batch/update`

## Request body

- object
  - `data` object[] — Add each record's GUID and details below to update them.
    - `id` string, required — Use a contact record's globally unique identifier (GUID) to update it.
    - `record` object — Set the fields you'd like to update in the specified record.
      - `firstname` string, required — First name of the contact.
      - `accountid` string — The related account's GUID.
      - `billingcity` string — Billing city
      - `billingcountry` string — Billing country
      - `billingstate` string — Billing state
      - `billingstreet` string — Billing street
      - `billingzipcode` string — Billing zip code
      - `campaignid` string — The related campaign's GUID.
      - `companyname` string — Company name
      - `department` string — Department
      - `description` string — Description of up to 4,000 characters.
      - `emailaddress1` string — Primary email address, must be in email format.
      - `emailaddress2` string — Secondary email address, must be in email format.
      - `emailaddress3` string — Third used email address, must be in email format.
      - `employeeid` string — Used for employee identification, unique values are recommended.
      - `fax` string — Fax
      - `gendercode` integer — Gender of the contact (Picklist).
      - `isvalidforemailcode` integer — Sets if the contact is valid for emails (Picklist).
      - `jobtitle` string — Job title
      - `lastactiondate` string — The date and time of the last action related to the contact, must be in UTC format.
      - `lastconversation` string — The GUID of the most recent email related to the contact.
      - `lastname` string — Last name
      - `managername` string — Manager name
      - `mobilephone1` string — Primary mobile phone number.
      - `mobilephone2` string — Secondary mobile phone number.
      - `ownerid` string — The GUID of the system user who created the record, can also be set manually. Will be used for permissions.
      - `salutation` integer — Salutation (Picklist)
      - `shippingcity` string — Shipping city
      - `shippingcountry` string — Shipping country
      - `shippingstate` string — Shipping state
      - `shippingstreet` string — Shipping street
      - `shippingzipcode` string — Shipping zip code
      - `telephone1` string — Primary phone number, contains exclusively numbers.
      - `telephone2` string — Secondary phone number, contains exclusively numbers.
      - `telephone3` string — Third used phone number, contains exclusively numbers.
      - `websiteurl` string — Website of the contact in URL format.
