# Similarity Index

`GET /stock/similarity-index`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://finnhub.io/api/v1`

- Auth: API key in query parameter `token`

Calculate the textual difference between a company's 10-K / 10-Q reports and the same type of report in the previous year using Cosine Similarity. For example, this endpoint compares 2019's 10-K with 2018's 10-K. Companies breaking from its routines in disclosure of financial condition and risk analysis section can signal a significant change in the company's stock price in the upcoming 4 quarters.

  - `symbol` string: Symbol.
  - `cik` string: CIK.
  - `similarity` SimilarityIndexInfo[]: Array of filings with its cosine similarity compared to the same report of the previous year.
    - `cik` string: CIK.
    - `item1` number, float: Cosine similarity of Item 1 (Business). This number is only available for Annual reports.
    - `item1a` number, float: Cosine similarity of Item 1A (Risk Factors). This number is available for both Annual and Quarterly reports.
    - `item2` number, float: Cosine similarity of Item 2 (Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations). This number is only available for Quarterly reports.
    - `item7` number, float: Cosine similarity of Item 7 (Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations). This number is only available for Annual reports.
    - `item7a` number, float: Cosine similarity of Item 7A (Quantitative and Qualitative Disclosures About Market Risk). This number is only available for Annual reports.
    - `accessNumber` string: Access number.
    - `form` string: Form type.
    - `filedDate` string: Filed date <code>%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S</code>.
    - `acceptedDate` string: Accepted date <code>%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S</code>.
    - `reportUrl` string: Report's URL.
    - `filingUrl` string: Filing's URL.
