# Contest the record Fidren holds about an address.

`POST /v1/disputes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.fidren.net`
- URL: `https://api.fidren.net/v1/disputes`
- Auth: none declared

A dispute may be filed with or without a signature. With one, a signature produced by a key corresponding to the address is checked, and on a match the record is served as disputed while it is reviewed. Without one, it is still recorded and reviewed, but it does not change what is served — otherwise anyone could flag a competitor's record by filing on their behalf. Filing a dispute never makes a verdict more permissive.

## Request body

- DisputeRequest
  - `address` string, required
  - `chain` 'base' | 'polygon'
  - `grounds` string, required: What the claimant says is wrong with the record.
  - `nonce` string: From /v1/disputes/challenge.
  - `signature` string: personal_sign over the challenge message.

## Response `201`

The recorded dispute.

- Dispute
  - `id` integer, required
  - `status` 'OPEN' | 'UPHELD' | 'CORRECTED' | 'CONTESTED' | 'WITHDRAWN', required
  - `verified` boolean, required: Whether a signature produced by a key corresponding to the address was checked and matched. Only a dispute backed by one affects what is served.
  - `raised_at` string, date-time, required
  - `resolved_at` string, date-time, nullable
  - `resolution` string, nullable
  - `verification_error` string
  - `note` string

## Other responses
