# Apply for pilot access.

`POST /v1/access-requests`

Unauthenticated, because an applicant has no key — having one is what they are applying for. **A successful call grants nothing.** It records an application in a queue; no organization, key, entitlement or usage allowance comes into existence, and none will until a person reviews and approves it. The response is a reference for correspondence, not an approval, and it deliberately reveals nothing about whether this address or organization has applied before.

## Request body

- AccessRequest: An application for pilot access. Every field is text supplied by an unauthenticated caller and is treated as such. There is deliberately no state field: a submission is always REQUESTED, and accepting a state would let a caller post themselves to APPROVED.

## Response `202`

The application was accepted for review.
