# Fetch column descriptions and definitions from available data.

`GET /dataset/{id}/dictionary/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://data.ferc.gov` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://data.ferc.gov/dataset/{id}/dictionary/`
- Auth: API key in query parameter `api_key`

Get column descriptions and definitions from available data dictionaries (404 error if not available).

- `401`: Unauthorized - Request unsuccessful due to lack of validation
- `404`: Not Found - Dataset ID does not exist
- `405`: Method Not Allowed - Only GET requests are allowed
- `429`: Too Many Requests - Blocked due to multiple requests in a short period
- `500`: Internal Server Error - Database error or server failure
