# Issue a test (sandbox) key

`POST /v1/me/keys/test`

Issues a `faro_test_*` key for the caller's email. Test keys return deterministic fixtures (no external checks, no cost) and never write to the reputation graph — see the test-mode fixture table in the docs.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- KeyIssued: The newly issued key — returned once; only its hash is stored server-side.
  - `api_key` string, required: The full API key. Store it now; shown only once.
  - `key_prefix` string, required: A non-secret prefix for identifying the key later.
  - `email` string, required: The verified email the key was issued to.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: Admin or dev-mode credentials cannot use dashboard routes.
