# Create User Tree

`POST /trees`

## Request

A user tree is represented as a GedcomX FamilySearch extension {@code Tree}.

## Headers

- `Content-Type` 'application/x-fs-v1+json', required

## Request body

- CreateTree
  - `trees` object[], required: Array containing the user tree to create. See <a href="https://developers.familysearch.org/main/docs/json-schema#tree" target="_blank">Tree Schema (JSON)</a>
    - `name` string, required: The name of the user tree
    - `description` string: A description of the user tree (optional)
    - `groupIds` string[], required: Array containing the group ID to associate with the user tree. To find group IDs, see <a href="/reference/getgroups" target="_blank">Read User's Groups</a>, or <a href="/reference/creategroup" target="_blank">Create Group</a> to create a new group.
    - `ownerAccess` 'http://familysearch.org/v1/AnyApps' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/CompanyApp' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/None': Third-party access level for the tree owner (optional). Defaults to CompanyApp if not provided.
    - `groupAccess` 'http://familysearch.org/v1/AnyApps' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/CompanyApp' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/None': Third-party access level for the tree group (optional). Defaults to None if not provided.
    - `allAccess` 'http://familysearch.org/v1/AnyApps' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/CompanyApp' | 'http://familysearch.org/v1/None': Third-party access level for all users (optional). Defaults to groupAccess if not provided.

## Response `201`

The creation of the user tree was successful.

## Other responses

- `429`: The request was throttled.
