# Read Parents

`GET /tree/persons/{pid}/parents`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://apibeta.familysearch.org/platform`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Read the set of relationships for a specific person. This includes the parents, the relationships to each parent, and the spouse relationships of the parents.

- `pid` string, required

## Response `200`

The read was successful. See <a href="https://developers.familysearch.org/main/docs/json-schema#childandparentsrelationship" target="_blank">ChildAndParentsRelationship Schema (JSON)</a>

## Other responses

- `204`: Upon a successful read and no relationships exist.
- `301`: If the person has been merged into another person.
- `404`: If the person is not found.
- `410`: If the person has been deleted.
- `429`: The request was throttled.
