# Trigger event

`POST /api/events/{eventId}/trigger`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/api/events/{eventId}/trigger`

Events became Command Presets in FPP 5: fppd turned each event file into a preset named after the event. This triggers the preset named in the event file `{eventId}.fevt`, as the `Trigger Command Preset` command does.
