# Delete a folder

`DELETE /mailboxes/{address}/folders/{path}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://faivelo.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://faivelo.com/api/v1/mailboxes/{address}/folders/{path}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deletes the folder and **every message in it** (and its subfolders). The system folders cannot be deleted (**403**). Requires scope `mail:write`.

Folder deleted

  - `data` DeletedResponse: Confirmation that a resource was deleted

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `402`: The account's plan does not include the API (`plan_required`)
- `403`: The key lacks the required scope, or the folder is a system folder
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
