# Create a charge meter

`POST /leases/{lease_id}/charges/{charge_id}/meters`

Create a new meter association for a charge

## Path parameters

## Request body

- CreateLeaseChargeMeter: Create a new charge-meter association. **Validation rules:** - `start_date` must be <= `end_date` (if provided) - `allocation_ratio` must be between 0 (exclusive) and 100 (inclusive)
  - `lease_charge_id` string, uuid, required
  - `meter_id` string, uuid, required
  - `calculation_method` 'DIRECT' | 'WEIGHTED' | 'SHARED' | 'FIXED_ALLOCATION': Method used to calculate charge consumption from meter readings. - `DIRECT`: Direct consumption billing - `WEIGHTED`: Weighted by a coefficient - `SHARED`: Shared proportionally among tenants - `FIXED_ALLOCATION`: Fixed allocation regardless of consumption
  - `allocation_ratio` number, nullable
  - `calculation_formula` object, nullable
  - `is_active` boolean
  - `start_date` string, date, required
  - `end_date` string, date, nullable

Charge meter created successfully

- LeaseChargeMeter: Association between a meter and a specific lease charge. Defines how consumption readings from the meter are used to calculate the charge amount.

  - `calculation_method` 'DIRECT' | 'WEIGHTED' | 'SHARED' | 'FIXED_ALLOCATION': Method used to calculate charge consumption from meter readings. - `DIRECT`: Direct consumption billing - `WEIGHTED`: Weighted by a coefficient - `SHARED`: Shared proportionally among tenants - `FIXED_ALLOCATION`: Fixed allocation regardless of consumption

  - `calculation_formula` object, nullable: Custom calculation formula (JSON)
  - `is_active` boolean, required: Whether this meter-charge link is currently active
