# Find a tax report by period

`POST /companies/{company}/tax-reports/find-by-period`

## Request

Looks up the most recent generated tax report for a given type and period. Returns the report or 404 `tax_report_not_found` when none exists for the period.

- FindTaxReportByPeriodV1Request: Resolve the most recent generation of a tax report for a period (latest wins). Validates the shape (`year` integer, `quarter` 1-4, `type`); the period rules (year range, and whether the model requires or forbids a quarter) are enforced with a 422. `303`/`347` are accepted as aliases of `modelo_303`/`modelo_347`.

    - `period_year` integer, required: Fiscal year covered by the declaration (backward compat, also available in `period.year`).
    - `period_quarter` integer, nullable, required: Quarter (1-4) for Modelo 303; null for Modelo 347 (yearly). Backward compat, also available in `period.quarter`.
    - `period` object, required: Fiscal period covered by the declaration (nested form).
      - `year` integer, required: Fiscal year.
      - `quarter` integer, nullable, required: Quarter (1-4), or `null` for annual reports (347).
      - `label` string, required: Human-readable period label (e.g. `2026 Q1` or `2026`).
    - `format` 'txt_aeat' | 'pdf' | 'excel', required: Output format. `txt_aeat` is the official format accepted by the AEAT submission portal.
    - `hash` string, required: SHA-256 of the generated file (audit trail).
    - `size_bytes` integer, required
    - `generated_at` string, date-time, required
    - `generated_by_id` string, required: UUID v7 of the user who generated the declaration (audit trail).
    - `download_url` string, required: Relative download URL of the generated resource (`/v1/companies/{company}/tax-reports/{tax_report}/download`).
    - `warnings` string[], required: Non-blocking warnings emitted during generation (e.g. invoices with incomplete data).
    - `warning_codes` string[], required: Stable machine-readable codes paired one-to-one (same index) with `warnings`. Branch on these instead of matching the Spanish text; unknown codes should fall back to the corresponding `warnings` entry.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company.
- `422`: Validation failed for the tax report request — e.g. an invalid period (Modelo 303 requires a quarter, Modelo 347 does not admit one, or the year is out of range), no invoices in the period, or an unsupported output format. The `error.param` field identifies which input is invalid.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
