# Refresh the quote for an employee batch

`POST /companies/{company}/employee-batches/{id}/quote`

## Request

Refresh the quote of a prepared employee batch.
- Refreshing never charges, provisions people or consumes an offer.
- Confirm exactly the new `quote_version` with a stable Idempotency-Key.
- After a 202 or failure, GET the same batch UUID until terminal; never create a second purchase.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company.
- `409`: The request conflicts with data that already exists or with a request running at the same time. `employee_batch_billing_state_conflict`: the current billing of the account does not allow completing the batch safely. `details.reason` is `offer_requires_chargeable_seats`, `fiscal_configuration` or `phase_incompatible`. Nothing was charged. `employee_batch_quote_changed`: the quote changed since the version you accepted (`param` `quote_version`). Refresh it and accept the current version. `employee_batch_state_conflict`: the batch is in a state that does not allow this action. Read its current state. `resource_already_exists` with `subcode` `external_id_already_exists`: an `external_id` of the batch is already used by an employee of the company. Nothing was charged or created. `employee_batch_idempotency_conflict`: the idempotency key of the body already identifies a different batch intention. Keep the current operation or prepare a new one with a new key.
- `422`: Validation failed. The `error.param` field identifies which input is invalid.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
- `503`: Reliable quote or gateway outcome unavailable. Retry only the same operation.
