# Retrieve account usage for the current period

`GET /accounts/{account}/usage`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.factuarea.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.factuarea.com/v1/accounts/{account}/usage`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Retrieve the API usage of your account for the CURRENT period: total requests, total documents and a per-tax-ID breakdown.
- The subject is the account, so the answer is the same whichever tax ID is effective; the period is resolved server-side.
- Distinct from automation run usage, which is per company.
- An account identifier that is not yours returns 404 `account_not_found`.

## Path parameters

- `account` string, uuid, required

## Headers

- `Factuarea-Version` string, date

## Response `200`

- object
  - `data` AccountUsage, required: Usage of the whole account for the current billing period, with the per-NIF breakdown. It is an AGGREGATE, not an entity: it carries no `id` because the subject is the period, and the period is named by its own boundaries.
    - `period` object, required: Boundaries of the period being reported.
      - `start` string, date, required: First day of the period, inclusive (ISO 8601 date).
      - `end` string, date, required: Last day of the period, inclusive (ISO 8601 date).
    - `requests_count` integer, required: Public API requests attributed to the account in the period, across every NIF in its scope.
    - `documents_count` integer, required: Documents issued by the account in the period, across every NIF in its scope.
    - `companies` object[], required: Breakdown per NIF. A NIF with no activity still appears, with zeros: leaving it out would make "no activity" and "not in the account" look the same.
      - `id` string, uuid, required: Opaque identifier (UUID v7) of the NIF.
      - `requests_count` integer, required: Requests attributed to this NIF in the period.
      - `documents_count` integer, required: Documents issued under this NIF in the period.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
