# Preview the seat charge of adding a company

`GET /accounts/{account}/companies/seat-charge-preview`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.factuarea.com/v1`

  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Preview the prorated amount of registering or activating ADDITIONAL tax IDs, without charging.
- Use `count` for a batch or `company_ids` for a coverage-aware preview; covered tax IDs cost `0`.
- Amounts are 2-decimal euro strings; this read never returns 402 or plan and cap rejections.
- Returns 403 `billing_managed_by_provider` when a provider manages billing.

## Response `200`

Preview the charge of the additional tax IDs (seats) of the account without creating a company or charging a payment method. `amount`, `tax_amount` and `total` are euro 2-decimal strings; `recurring_base_cents` and `recurring_total_cents` stay in cents, as their names state.

A null reason never implies an Enterprise contract; negotiated_free_price preserves the acquired private seat price.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company. `account_not_found`: the account in the path does not exist or is not the account of the API key.
- `409`: Existing acquired seat conditions cannot be preserved by this purchase. Review them before adding companies; no financial intent or charge is created.
- `422`: Validation failed. The `error.param` field identifies which input is invalid.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
- `503`: The paid-seat preview could not be verified. No company is created and no charge is attempted. Correct billing configuration or retry the preview; never treat this failure as a zero amount.
