# Verify the creation of a tax ID

`POST /accounts/{account}/companies/{company}/verify-creation`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.factuarea.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.factuarea.com/v1/accounts/{account}/companies/{company}/verify-creation`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Reconcile and advance the provisioning of a tax ID against the titular's subscription; no body, idempotent.
- While `awaiting_payment`, once a payment method exists it is charged and becomes `active`.
- Returns the creation-status resource; never 402: a failed charge leaves it `failed` with its reason.

## Response `200`

- object
  - `data` CompanyCreationStatus, required: Provisioning lifecycle status of a tax ID (company) of the account. Poll it after registering the tax ID to know when it becomes operational.
    - `id` string, uuid, required: Opaque identifier (UUID v7) of the tax ID.
    - `object` 'company_creation_status', required: Always `company_creation_status`.
    - `provisioning_status` 'pending' | 'awaiting_payment' | 'provisioning' | 'active' | 'failed', required: Provisioning lifecycle status: `pending`, `awaiting_payment`, `provisioning`, `active` or `failed`.
    - `payment_setup_url` string, uri, nullable, required: URL to set up the payment method of the account titular; when it is saved the person returns to the Companies page of the app (`/companies`). Only present while `awaiting_payment` and for a production credential that reaches the titular company; `null` otherwise.
    - `failed_reason` string, nullable, required: Human-readable reason the provisioning failed. Only present when `provisioning_status` is `failed`; `null` otherwise.
    - `started_at` string, date-time, nullable, required: When provisioning started (ISO 8601), or `null` if not started yet.
    - `completed_at` string, date-time, nullable, required: When provisioning completed (ISO 8601), or `null` if not completed yet.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company.
- `409`: The request conflicts with data that already exists or with a request running at the same time. `customer_offer_phase_incompatible` with `param` `quantity`: the conditions already acquired for the additional tax ID seat cannot be preserved by this purchase. `details.reason` is `phase_incompatible`. No company is created or activated and no charge is attempted. `customer_offer_operation_in_progress`: an operation for the same concept is still pending. Continue that operation instead of starting another. `customer_offer_legacy_outcome_unknown`: a previous billing operation of the account is still being verified. `details.operation_id` is that operation; read its state before repeating the request.
- `422`: `idempotency_key_reused`: the `Idempotency-Key` was already used with a different body; send a new key or the same body. `invalid_param_format` on `Idempotency-Key`: the key must be 1 to 255 printable ASCII characters.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
