# Archive a tax ID of the account

`DELETE /accounts/{account}/companies/{company}`

## Request

Archive a tax ID of the account: it moves to `archived`, stops accepting operations and its history is kept.
- Never billed (no 402).
- Blocked with 422 `business_rule_violation` by open fiscal documents or subcode `account_must_keep_one_nif`.

## Other responses

- `400`: `parameter_unknown` with `subcode` `retired_active_profile_header`: the retired `X-Active-Profile` header was sent; the company goes in the path. `parameter_invalid_format` on `Factuarea-Version`: the header is not a `YYYY-MM-DD` date. `unsupported_api_version`: the `Factuarea-Version` date is not a supported version.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The request is authenticated but not allowed: the API key lacks the required scope (`insufficient_scope`), the plan does not include the public API or this feature (`addon_not_active`, `feature_not_available_in_plan`), or the module is not available with a test key (`module_not_available_in_sandbox`).
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist or belongs to another company.
- `409`: The request conflicts with data that already exists or with a request running at the same time. `customer_offer_operation_in_progress`: an operation for the same concept is still pending. Continue that operation instead of starting another. `customer_offer_legacy_outcome_unknown`: a previous billing operation of the account is still being verified. `details.operation_id` is that operation; read its state before repeating the request. `customer_offer_phase_incompatible` with `param` `quantity`: the conditions already acquired for the additional tax ID seat cannot be preserved by this purchase. `details.reason` is `phase_incompatible`. No company is created or activated and no charge is attempted.
- `422`: `idempotency_key_reused`: the `Idempotency-Key` was already used with a different body; send a new key or the same body. `invalid_param_format` on `Idempotency-Key`: the key must be 1 to 255 printable ASCII characters.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the duration in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
