# Reads a single Absence

`GET /api/2026-10-01/resources/employee_updates/absences/{id}`

## Request

This endpoint can be used to retrieve a list of absence `employee updates`.

  - `id` string, required: Identifier of the absence employee update
  - `status` string, required: The status of the employee update.
  - `employee_id` string: Employee id of the absence
  - `employee_full_name` string: Full name of the employee
  - `approved` boolean: Indicates if the absence is approved
  - `description` string: A description of the absence
  - `start_on` string: The start date of the absence
  - `prev_start_on` string: The previous start date of the absence
  - `finish_on` string: The end date of the absence
  - `prev_finish_on` string: The previous end date of the absence
  - `half_day` string: Indicates if the absence is taken as a half-day
  - `hours_amount_in_cents` integer: The total number of hours taken for the absence, represented in cents
  - `leave_type_id` string: The id of the leave type
  - `leave_type_name` string: The name of the leave type
