# Creates an Employees compensation

`POST /api/2026-10-01/resources/compensations/employees_compensations`

## Request

Creates an employee compensation (dashboard-created, no source)

## Request body

- object
  - `payroll_run_id` string, required: Parent payroll run id, refers to compensations/payroll_runs endpoint.
  - `employee_id` string, required: Employee id (participant of the payroll run), refers to employees/employees endpoint.
  - `concept_id` string, required: Payroll concept id, refers to compensations/concepts endpoint.
  - `amount` integer: Amount value (nullable; required when is_overwritten=true)
  - `is_overwritten` boolean, required: When true, the provided `amount` becomes `amount_overwritten`
  - `strategy_type` 'compensations_fixed_amount_strategy' | 'compensations_variable_amount_strategy' | 'compensations_per_worked_day_amount_strategy': Amount strategy discriminator
  - `unit_symbol` string: Unit symbol (e.g. `EUR`)
  - `upper_limit` integer: Upper limit for variable strategy (ignored for fixed / per_worked_day)
  - `per_day_rate` integer: Per-day rate (only used for per_worked_day strategy)

  - `amount_is_overwritten` boolean, required: Whether the amount is a manual override
  - `result_type` 'compensation' | 'payroll_result': Record projection type (always `compensation` on this endpoint)
  - `source_type` 'compensations_compensationpolicy' | 'timesettings_customtimerangecategory' | 'expenses_expensable' | 'expenses_expense' | 'expenses_mileage' | 'benefits_compensation' | 'salary_advance_request' | 'incentives_compensationplanrequest' | 'attendance_review': Source type discriminator (nullable — dashboard-created records have no source)
  - `source_id` string: Source id (nullable — dashboard-created records have no source)
  - `created_by_employee_id` string: Employee id of the author (nullable)
  - `last_updated_by_employee_id` string: Employee id of the last updater (nullable)
  - `created_at` string, required: Timestamp when the compensation record was created
  - `updated_at` string, required: Timestamp when the compensation record was last updated
